Dissidia: Final Fantasy MUSH takes place in an environment of ongoing conflict, based on the ongoing battle between the armies and archtypes of good and evil in the Final Fantasy universe. The MUSH's sole purpose is not to create the atmosphere of constant combat and violence, however. The goal of Dissidia: Final Fantasy MUSH is to allow players to experience characters who are living in a wartime environment, rather than having one battle after another as one would do in the video games upon which we are based.
Of course, combat is a part of this. It's all part of the game. But the purpose of this MUSH is to generate non-combat RP and tell stories in the world of Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Please keep this in mind. To faciliate combat, we have installed a coded Combat System to act as neutral arbitration for conflict. In addition to the combat system, we ask that you use your best judgement in combat situations as well; sometimes the system can be skipped and RPed circumstances can be just as, if not moreso, fulfilling.
The purpose of the combat system is to provide a random but realistic element to the roleplaying environment of the game. When two characters meet in battle, the programmed combat system serves as an unbiased judge of the various outcomes of the battle including hits, misses and damage. This should in no way inhibit or detract from the acting and roleplaying of the players involved. Players are expected to use the combat system only as a cue to guide the direction of their roleplaying. Players who fail to roleplay while using the combat system will be considered to be abusing the combat system and may have their combat privileges revoked by a MUSH administrator.
