All the RP on this MUSH is on a consensual basis. No one should feel pressured to RP something with which they aren't OOCly comfortable. It is imperative to remember that there is indeed another person on the other end of your Internet connection: a person with thoughts, feelings, and ideas that are just as valid and considerable as yours are. It is important that you work things out via page before pursuing -questionable- RP and that the person you are RPing with is comfortable with whatever RP you may have in mind. Please don't forget this rule.
The basic premise is that within reason, the consequences of your actions—as they pertain to your own character—are yours to determine. You will not be killed just because you take part in combat. Your character cannot be cut down in the street of a city just because your Tribe or Class is disliked in the region. Additionally, other players may not assume consequences of your actions for their own characters that are beyond what might be seen as reasonable consequences. If you roleplay that your Chocobo escaped from boarding, another play may not, for instance, claim that it then went on a rampage through the city center.
The definitions of “within reason” and “reasonable consequences” are important to note. Consent is not something that can be used to hide behind to avoid any and all consequences. While taking part in combat does not mean consenting to a potential death, it does mean consenting to taking enough damage to lose if that’s how the fight ends up going. It is also important to note that Staff may decide to enforce consequences for certain actions, ranging from responses to actions taken against an NPC, to consequences for actions taken against other PCs, to responses to player-based complaints about PC vs. PC conflict and unthemeliness.
